Stock gearing yz250
Stock is 14/50 I ride woods and light MX and weight around 250lbs. What gearing is all the big boys running? I was thinking of 14/51 14/52 13/50 _____ The chain is size 530, and the stock gearing is 15/45, meaning that the front sprocket has 15 teeth and the rear sprocket has 45 teeth. If your gearing now is too short (meaning you are running out of gears too fast), then drop a couple teeth in the rear. Again if you are running stock gearing (14/50), go down to a 48 out back. If you want to make gear changing from one place to the other easy, I would run 14/48 for desert and 13/48 for the track.
